About Giamela's

Located at 3178 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039, Giamela's operates as a pizza restaurant serving Los Angeles in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as deli, fast food restaurant, italian restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Giamela's at (323) 661-9444; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is giamelas.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 1,232 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Los Angeles and suggests consistent service.

Giamela's has the best pastrami in LA. Okay, Langer's is the best, but it is expensive. Giamela's is very good and not high priced. Just wished the rolls didn't have sesame seeds. But it is worth it for the pastrami. It's a hole in the wall and staff has been mostly very good, but can't give 5 stars to those.

I love their basil pesto pizza with πŸ„ topping and their πŸ† lasagna. Giamelas is one of my favorite πŸ• places. Their crust is soft and with the right ratio of πŸ§€ and sauce. Friendly service too. They have a small parking lot as well.

Giving a high rating for the staff and overall experience. Now don’t get me wrong the food is not BAD by any means, it’s just not like, so good that you need to return immediately. I only tried the pizza slice with customisable toppings β€” it kinda lacked flavour but the ingredients tasted fresh. If I were there with a bunch of friends I’m sure I would’ve been able to try more off the menu, which is why I’ll likely return at some stage. That being said it’s a nice place to go in by yourself too, as I mentioned the staff are welcome and it’s a cool place to journal or read a book. I like no-frills interior with brick-line walls.

This restaurant has surprised me on the quality of their food, I had the pepper steak sub and a medium sized lemonade drink for 19 dollars. The pepper steak sub was made perfectly but the meat lacked flavor which was surprising. The lemonade was delicious and was perfect; They took around 15 minutes to make the sub and they served it with napkins and a fork. The restaurant has a small parking lot on the left side on the small residential street side. They don’t have a dedicated handicap parking spot available and the restaurant is not really handicapped accessible. The prices are just on point for what you get, overall this restaurant was good and I enjoyed the food they served me. They need some improvement on the flavor of the food though but I do recommend you give them a try if you are in the area.

Small pizza and sandwich place. They also have a small selection of pasta. They are best known for their pepper steak. It's good but not my favorite. They add water while grilling the steak, which keeps it from developing a char. Update: They just expanded their indoor dining area to the defunct Chinese restaurant next door.
